Share of Costs

HSB foundation: we share costs and try best be fair to all players Home

• The biggest cost is court rental. Currently 8.5 pounds per court per hour at Abbs Cross
• The second cost is shuttle fee - estimation 1 pound per hour per court
• The third cost is public liability insurance (currently applying)
• The fourth cost is exceptional cost - including new shuttle trials, last minute drop outs without replacement et al
• Please use used shuttles in warming up and this is also the time to decide whether we discharge a used one
• Own shuttles not encouraged: you need to consult the other 3 players . it will be treated as donation and no reduction in payment

Following the regrettable incident on October 4th, 2025, we propose a reduction in the payment granularity from the current £0.50 to £0.10 to ensure fairer individual contributions. This change will allow for more precise payment amounts, such as £3.00, £3.10, £3.20, up to £4.00 per player.

Examples: 
          if 5 players for 1 court 2 hours , 3.7 pounds each
          if 6 players for 1 court 2 hours , 3.2 pounds each

We shall give up trying any new shuttle kinds in future , e.g. NCS et al, to avoid exceptional cost.
We shall use the 12 white Yonex 2000 shuttles at some point to avoid waste
We shall discard Carlton shuttles. We shall stick to Yonex Mavis 300.
Anything in surplus will be used for members , e.g. club's annual mini tournment et al
